The Endless Escape

There's a heart bursting at the seams
Hidden for reasons like
You never lift a finger to please
My need for somebody else
Maybe I'll just raise reckless hands and let you win
Only reckless hands could let you in
We had it all
The emptiness was flawless
But not enough to be honest
Or to attack the importance of putting it on
Cheat the heart of fear and faith
It's the only way to end the endless escape
After all the imminent and the possible heart ache
I'll do it over again
I was bored
Idle hands in the pocket
Reality hit the conscience
Maybe I needed something to happen
(So I)
Cheat the heart of fear and faith
It's the only way to end the endless escape
After all the imminent and the possible heart ache
I'll do it over again
My soul suffers without you here right now
I can't forget or fake it out
Your touch can force the hand of fate
In the endless escape
Cheat the heart of fear and faith
It's the only way to end the endless escape
After all the imminent and the possible heart ache
I'll do it over again

Rush

Rush
As the moon bright
Shows the sunlight
She conjures up feelings
Awkward and revealing
She talks to the father
But suffers in silence
He hears not the cries of
Her sisters and brother
It's like we're stuck in a knife fight covered in holes
Blood drips like waterfalls drowning hope
If nothing is beating then soon she'll fade
If we're rushing to fight the feeling before we cave
There's a bloodline
That breathes the evident
While she waits by
It bleeds new ignorance
It's like we're stuck in a knife fight covered in holes
Blood drips like waterfalls drowning hope
If nothing is beating then soon she'll fade
If we're rushing to fight the feeling before we cave
Please forgive my sister
For blood has become twisted
In my veins, in my veins
If I did not rush and if I stayed
I would bleed for you and not for me
For you and not for me

Death and a Cure is a solo act that began in in Perth, Western Australia in October 2008 with acclaimed singer/ songwriter/ guitarist, Ben Blondel. Since launching his debut EP in July 2010, Ben is more recently recognized for his role as the singer from Post-hardcore outfit 'In League'. The band recently signed to In Vogue Records (Nick Moore - Before Their Eyes) and released their debut album 'Where the Silence is Easy' on 29/03/11. This has gained Ben worldwide exposure for his unique voice and also his solo project 'Death and a Cure'.
This act still remains independent and he is currently recording the Debut album set for release in late 2011. Ben recorded his first solo song in 2005 and it received immediate attention from the wider music community, winning WAM song of the year in the upper-school aged category for his song 'The Best is Yet to Come'.
There is much to be said about the beautiful music produced by this solo act. Drawing on inspiration from artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Dallas Green, John Mayer and Damien Rice, Ben has an honest, calm and soothing approach to his unique style of music that avid music lovers all want to hear. Every song has meaning and depth far beyond its face value for Ben, with messages that confront often inconvenient yet unavoidable truths that derive from both introspective thought and contemplation upon universal social truths
